The Digitization & Conservation Project Manager is responsible for managing complex, interdepartmental workflows and projects for the Preservation and Digitization program. Performs the high-level functions of intake, assessment, and management of formal projects and patron requests. Plans and analyzes departmental projects, including scope, timeline projection, affected parties, exclusions, risks, allocation of staff time, workflow, and other factors, informing project partners across departments of requirements and impacts prior to start of projects. Conducts progress reporting and assessment throughout the duration of project work. Uses advanced software to collect statistics, using information gathered to project staff hours, estimate completion timelines, and plan for allocation of resources for future projects. Coordinates communications between project partners in multiple departments across the organization. Ensures partners are informed of project requirements and deadlines. Brings stakeholders together at project end to assess outcomes, collect data, identify opportunities for improvement, and author final project report. Uses information from completed projects in a continual iterative process to build improved workflows and practices for future projects. will operate with a high degree of independence, decision- making capabilities, judgment, consistency, and relationship building.

The Preservation and Digitization Program Area staff works collaboratively as a team to steward the Ohio State Libraries collections, harnessing our different expertise and helping each other to reach our full potential, and together ensure the long-term preservation of this vast cultural heritage. All other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience effectively managing multiple concurrent workflows in support of organization-wide projects and regular ongoing work collaborations.

  • Demonstrated success in initiating, managing, and completing small- and large-scale projects across different units or organizations.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and communicate effectively with multiple constituencies via multiple channels.

  • Ability to analyze data and make effective decisions based on the result.

  • Demonstrated experience using project management software, such as Airtable, Jira, Trello or other. Advanced skills in Microsoft 365 software suite.

Desired Qualifications

  • Certification in project management, such as CAPM or other Project Management Institute certifications.

  • Formal training in the principles and applications of project management.

  • Experience working in college or university libraries or archives.

Posting Range

The posting range for this position is $58,100 - $70,000 annually.
