Please welcome Megan Emery as MRCG President

Megan Emery 2014Megan Emery is currently working as an objects conservator at the Midwest Art Conservation Center.  Megan joined MACC in September of 2013 and has been busy with a wide variety of conservation treatments including decorative arts, contemporary sculpture, and frames.   Prior to her new position Megan was the objects conservator at the Cincinnati Art Museum, a position she held for seven years.  Other work experience includes a Mellon Fellowship at the National Museum of the American Indian and a third-year internship at The Walters.  She holds a Master of Arts with a Certificate of Advanced Study in Conservation specializing in Objects from Buffalo State College and a Bachelor of Fine Arts cum laude from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN.  In addition to being a member of the Midwest Regional Conservation Guild, Megan is a Professional Associate of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic & Artistic Works (Objects Specialty Group and Electronic Media) and a member of the International Institute for Conservation.Megan is honored to be the new MRCG President.  She hopes to continue the effort of increasing MRCG membership and looks forward to hosting MRCG in Minneapolis this fall.  Minneapolis has not hosted MRCG since 1992 and it is bound to be a great meeting.  Megan thinks the Guild is a great way for conservators in the Midwest to stay connected even with great distances between many of us.  The guild is also a tremendous resource for young professionals and students interested in the conservation field.
