Transportation

From Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) to Ann Arbor

Ann Arbor is 25 minutes from the Detroit Metro airport. There are a variety of transportation options.

The Michigan Flyer provides direct bus service between Ann Arbor and the Detroit airport.

Cost: $12 one way, or $22 roundtrip if booked online. Travelers can pay cash to the driver; $17 for a one way fare. See the website (http://www.michiganflyer.com/) for schedule information and to book online. Pre-purchase is recommended.

Schedule: There are 13 runs per day, with a bus leaving approximately every 60 to 90 minutes during daytime hours. See the website for up-to-date schedule information.

Stops: The Flyer stops at both the McNamara and North airport terminals; see the website for the airport stop locations. There are two stops in Ann Arbor, each within a ten minute walk of an MRCG conference hotel:

Taxi Service to Ann Arbor: take any taxi from the airport taxi stand. Expect a fare between $40 and $60. For the return trip, ask your hotel to call a taxi.

Sedan Service to Ann Arbor: We recommend Metro Cars. The standard fare to Ann Arbor is $71. Make reservations at www.metrocars.com or by calling 800-456-1701.

Within Ann Arbor

Downtown Ann Arbor is entirely walk-able. The Ann Arbor Transportation Authority provides regular bus service to downtown. The fare is $1.50, and transfers are free.

The Sheraton Hotel is located along AATA Route 6, which runs to and from the Blake Transit Center in downtown Ann Arbor. Click here to see the Route 6 map and schedule. Note that the Saturday - Sunday schedule is on page 2. The bus runs every hour to half hour on the weekends.

  • Catch the #6 bus at stop #4 at the Briarwood Mall (7 min. walk from the Sheraton).

  • Exit the bus at stop #2, the Michigan Union.

  • Walk ~1 block north on State Street. The Kelsey will be on your left at 434 South State.
