MRCG 2022 Symposium Updates

Hello MRCG Community!

See below for important updates about this year's annual MRCG symposium on September 28-29, 2022 at the Detroit Institute of Arts in the historic Detroit Film Theater.

• The call for papers deadline has been extended to July 15th

• We will accept proposals for talks (15-20 minutes) or a tip sharing a new technique, tool, etc. (5-10 min)

• Virtual submissions will be considered

• We will be offering a limited number of scholarships to assist with the cost of travel and attendance for the meeting for pre-program and current graduate students, as well as conservators in private practice and regional centers. Preference will be given to those who are submitting a talk or tip. Please contact mrcg.secretary@gmail.com for more information.

This year's symposium will feature:

• 9/27: Pre-conference workshop on gels with Sophie Barbisan

• 9/27: Pre-conference Portfolio Day

• 9/28-9/29: Two days of presentations from colleagues across the MRCG membership (in-person and virtual attendees)

• 9/28: Reception in the Detroit Film Theater's Crystal Gallery

• 9/28: MRCG Business Meeting (in-person and virtual attendees)

• 9/29: Post-conference tours

Conservators and allied collections care professionals are invited to submit an abstract. MRCG welcomes topics from all specialties, on any aspect of your work, and from all career levels. Please see the attached flyer for more information. Hope to see you in September!
